I built the MRDC project inside my virtual production studio, so we can walk around in the MRDC during design and development to help solve design issues. Pictured above is an updated motion base / interactive, LED experience that will let you be a river guide along the McKenzie in real-time.
The tools I am using allow me to "rapid prototype" projects and concepts very cost effectively and typically by myself. Once a project is green lighted the actual content product would shift to a more robust and high-rez solution if the client is prepared to pay the required royalties for programs like Unity & Unreal. All solutions are possible depending on the budget.
Several years back, my company built a couple of real-time rides similar to this for Ride and Show Engineering. We actually built 2 graphic and motion controlled software systems for a total contract amount of 500,000 USD. The big challenge for any museum today is the competition inherent in todays culture with the availability to the average consumer, of high end hyper-quality immersive gaming and entertainment systems for the home. We must all reach higher.
My "hands-on" work product & responsibilities on this project: Content and concept development, space and exhibit programming via narrative development and exhibit design, facility concept design, 3D and VR project development, exhibit budget awareness & facility/exhibit integration recommendation. This effort directly helped secure a 3 million dollar matching funds commitment from the State of Oregon.
